Last month I attended the UNIQLO VIP pre-opening event. UNIQLO is based out of Japan and is the US equivalent of Gap or Old Navy. They are known for their awesome basics and inexpensive cashmere sweaters, button down shirts, and long underwear.
First stop was the red carpet for an improtu photo-op. For my plus one, I invited my sister-in-law. She lived in Japan for a year and frequented UNIQLO. Once inside, we mingled with some old and new faces while perusing the racks. Appetizers and drinks were served and a traditional Japanese sake barrel ceremony was performed. Jermaine Kearse, Seattle’s wide receiver and UNIQLO ambassador also participated in the ceremony and posed for some photos. After the ceremony Hollis and The Flavr Blue performed.
I was impressed with the quality of clothing and large selection of fun scarves and accessories. My favorite purchase of the night was my oxford shirt with the polka dot lined sleeves. See how I styled it here. I loved this blouse so much that I ended up grabbing the stripe version as well.
I spent most of the night with Olga from Explore Your Bliss, Hilary from The Cutie Life, and getting to know Sheila from She is Lovely. I also had the chance to meet Lindsay from Lindsay Living and her friend Oliver, from Oliver Beauty. See his makeup skills here and here.
