Here are some recent beauty finds in my never-ending quest to tame my oily skin. This is a follow up to my last beauty haul.
Beauty Haul – Products to Tame Oily Skin
- Lorac POREfection Mattifying Face Primer – this primer is oil and paraben free, and good for all skin types. It reduces the appearance of pores and fine lines with a matte finish. Wearing this primer helps my makeup stay on all day and reduces shine. For me, this is the best primer yet.
- Beautyblender – this edge-less sponge leaves your face looking airbrushed and flawless. I recommend the Blendercleanser for keeping it in mint condition. I am obsessed with both.
- Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Pressed Finishing Powder – this finishing powder minimizes pores, mattifies the skin, and reduces excess oil. It also comes in a loose powder.
- Caudalie Beauty Elixir – the employees at my local Sephora swear by this spray. It is part toner and part serum. This is the final step in my makeup application. You can also use it to touch up throughout the day.
- Tweezerman Brush iQ Powder Brush – this is the first powder brush I’ve used, so I don’t have much to compare to, but I was shocked by how flawless my complexion looked after using.

I’ve heard so many great things about the beauty blender, do u use it for foundation or blusher and bronzer? xx
I’m seriously obsessed! I use mine with foundation. Be wary of imitations as they do not work the same as the actual Beautyblender if you decide to try out.
I’m obsessed with the beauty blender too!!!

The Beautyblender is a must have! I would love to hear your thoughts on it if you try. You do such great product reviews.
Thanks lovely! I think I’m going to invest soon!
I’ve been wanting to try the beauty blender, but the thought of cleaning it so often seems annoying…would you say it’s worth it? Also, the Caudalie elixir sounds lovely!

Mil you have to try the Beautyblender! I can’t believe that you haven’t tried it. You’re the beauty guru. You only have to clean it once a week. It’s totally worth it. If you try, do let me know what you think.
Hmm ok! Maybe I’ll finally take the plunge!
I really think I’m missing out on the beauty blender!! Not convinced about the dupes but really tempted to give it a go – awesome haul huni 🙂 XXX
Thanks Karen. You should definitely checkout the Beautyblender. Be wary of imitations they do not work the same. If you try the Beautyblender, I would love to hear your thoughts.
I will definitely check it out and be wary of the dupes… I think things like this are always better off spending a little more on for better quality! Will keep you posted for sure 🙂 XXX
I totally agree! 🙂
I’ve heard amazing things about the Beauty Blender but am hesitant to use a spongy thing to apply makeup. I feel like it would absorb more makeup than it puts on my face! Have you had issues with that? Or do you have any other thoughts about it?
It does seem to absorb more makeup, but the end result is totally worth it. When I use, I first apply some foundation to my hand and then dab it with the sponge. It’s super easy to use. If you do try be sure to follow the instructions and submerge your sponge into water and pat dry before using. Hope this helps.
It’s always nice to get some new beauty ideas! I have especially been looking for a new primer so I will give this one a try 🙂

Oh yay! If you do try the Lorac primer let me know what you think.
Your post makes me want to try some new things at Sephora. That primer looks like a good option. How often do you have to clean the beauty blender?
Thanks Sarah. I’m glad you’re feeling inspired. The recommendation for cleaning the sponge is once a week.
Great buy Asa! I love Caudalie products and yes it really hydrates my skin and gives me a boost mid-day too when my eyes are shutting close from lack of caffeine. Have a great one dear! 🙂 xo~ Lena
Thanks Lena. The Caudalie Elixir is great. I haven’t tried any of their other products, but might have to give them a go. 🙂
The packaging of the beautyblender is so cute, love it! It sounds like an excellent product too, thanks for the recommendation!

I need a Beauty Blender!! I love that Caudalie Elixir. I actually swear by the Caudalie Divine Oil. It is such a beautiful all-purpose oil. Caudalie is one of my favourite beauty brands ever…mainly because their products have wine in them. Lol! xoxox
Lol! That’s good to know. I will have to check out the oil. I’m loving the elixir. Thanks for the tip.
