Headbands of Hope

I love to shop as much as the next girl, but shopping for a cause is even better. Headbands of Hope is an accessory brand on a mission. For every headband sold, another is given to a child with cancer. This particular organization hits home as I work at a children’s hospital.

This adorable crown is from the Headbands of Hope Market. It’s actually a bun pin but I decided to wear it as a crown, cause why not? The Hope Market donates a part of their proceeds to a cancer organization for children. They have so many fun accessories, like this Moon Hair Clip and this Triple Triangle Necklace.

The Story of Headbands of Hope

The founder Jessica Ekstrom did an internship at a wish-granting organization during the summer of 2011. She found that the girls who lost their hair during chemotherapy loved wearing headbands. This inspired Headbands of Hope.

I love the creativity and passion behind this organization, and the confidence it brings. “We believe fashion can be the greatest vehicle to a positive self-identity.”

To make the “crown” pop I went with this beautiful silk green dress. I am obsessed with the smocked waist and flared silhouette. It’s the perfect party dress and makes me want to do a twirl. To compliment the gold color of the crown, I wore this pretty Kendra Scott pendant and Wanderlust + Co ring. The nude heels and purse tie it all together. For some extra fun, I added this adorable tassel clip to my purse.

Thank you Headbands of Hope for the cute hair accessory and sharing your cause.
