Dress: Lush (similar) | Shoes: Kate Spade | Necklace: c/o Pretty Particular | Midi Ring:  c/o Pretty Particular (use code laceandpearls to receive 20% off your order)  | Bracelet: J.Crew (similar) | Pave Ring: Stella & Dot | Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs via Thredup (similar) | Lipstick: Wet n Wild (Pretty Persimmon)

I love a good piece that has staying power, and this dress is one of those items. I’ve had it for several years, which rarely happens when it comes to my wardrobe. I am always quick to get rid of something if it is not seeing use. I love the print (black and white), but the silhouette is what really makes this piece. I love the length and how it cinches at the waist, plus it has pockets. #majorwin Oh, and the keyhole back is pretty cute.

I hardly ever wear black and white, so when I do I need to add some color. A bright lipstick looks good on pretty much everyone, and it will add just the right amount of color to a monochrome look.

For this look, I added pops of coral. The super cute Marc by Marc Jacobs purse is from my favorite secondhand store Thredup. I love the nude hue and the bright accents. The flats are from Kate Spade.

And then there’s the accessories, my favorite part of getting dressed. This pretty gold pendant is from Pretty Particular. This piece is no longer available, but there are so many other gorgeous options. My midi ring is also Pretty Particular. Her stuff is on-trend and priced right. If you’re interested in other Pretty Particular pieces use code laceandpearls to receive 20% off your order.

Brighten Up Your Black and White Look

So there you have it! When wearing a black and white look, find ways to incorporate an accent color throughout your outfit. It doesn’t have to be over the top; it can be as subtle as wearing a bright nail polish or lip, or adding color with your accessories.
