Pantone Color of the Year: Valiant Poppy + Why You Need It

September 25, 2018

As luck would have it, I happened to pick up this dress in one of the season's hottest colors: Pantone's Valiant Poppy. Lucky me!Even though I’m a fashion blogger, I’m not necessarily up to speed on my fashion know-how and the latest trends. I rarely immerse myself in what’s on the runway, but still feel it’s important for me to stay in the loop. I thought I would start with something simple and decided to look up the top colors for fall/winter. The one that stood out to me the most was this vibrant red color that Pantone is calling Valiant Poppy.

Lucky me!If you’re not familiar with the Pantone Color Institute, they’re the creators of the Pantone Fashion Color Trend Report. This report provides an overview of the top colors that fashion designers will be showcasing in their collections during New York Fashion Week and then we continue to see these color stories throughout the season. As luck would have it, I happened to pick up this dress in one of the season’s hottest colors. Lucky me!

As luck would have it, I happened to pick up this dress in one of the season's hottest colors: Pantone's Valiant Poppy. Lucky me!This dress is so easy and beyond comfortable. It has pockets, so that’s a bonus, plus the length is perfect and I love how the top half is layered, giving it the appearance of a top and skirt. Oh, and it’s on sale now!

Upbeat colors make you happy! When I saw this dress and the color, it immediately made me happy. There is just something about it that gives a little extra pep in your step, don’t you think? The fall season can be cold and dreary but who says your wardrobe has to?

Great foundation for accessorizing. Valiant Poppy aka red kind of acts as a neutral. I decided to go with a nude shoe and bag to let the dress and color take center stage. For something a bit more fun, I would add a leopard print shoe and some type of scarf or clutch. The options are pretty endless so think outside of the box when styling this color.

Works for lots of occasions. The color red works for most occasions, so if you’re in need of a showstopping color, think no further than valiant poppy! My dress is a bit casual, but it would still work great for brunch, a day event, or even in the office for a business casual look.

Gives the appearance of confidence.ย There’s a common saying to “fake it ’til you make it”. Along those lines, this vibrant color exudes confidence even if you don’t necessarily feel that way. Who has to know, right? ๐Ÿ™‚

Will you be rocking valiant poppy this fall? Share in the comments.
