maurices graciously sponsored this Instagram post, but I fell in love with the brand and chose to write a full blog post. All opinions shared are my own. Thank you, maurices for gifting me the clothing and accessories in this post.
If you’re a new follower here, you may or may not know that I work in the healthcare industry as a Project Manager. I have a BA in communications and previously worked at Nordstrom for almost 10 years before making the switch to healthcare. When I first started at Nordstrom, I worked for Nordstrom Rack and then transitioned to Nordstrom corporate. You can read more about my current career in this post.
The dress attire in healthcare is relatively casual, especially in Seattle. However, when the holiday season rolls around, my team likes to dress up.
If we have a holiday party this year, I’m going to wear this lace dress from maruices. How adorable is the tulle hem and silhouette? The dress is beyond flattering and perfect for the classic girly-girl, aka me! Even better is the affordable price point—can you believe it’s only $49?! (And I can’t forget to mention the modest keyhole on the back with a button closure—so cute!)
The standout piece of this look, however, is my faux fur chevron jacket! It’s lightweight but incredibly cozy and soft. I feel like a glamorous teddy bear. Since my dress and jacket are festive, I kept my accessories to a minimum and wore a simple rose-gold earring and this sparkly black purse.
I love the versatility of this dress. It could be worn with heels or ballet flats. For this look, I wanted to keep things casual and chose to instead wear booties. Another potential layering option is this black faux fur vest. I recently styled this dress with the vest on my IG stories and loved it! (You can check out that look on the maurices highlight on my Instagram profile.)
The jacket is equally functional. It can be paired with dresses or other casual items in my closet. I can’t wait to dress down this jacket with a blouse and pair of jeans!
Does your office host a holiday party? If so, what do you typically wear? Let me know in the comments!
