Ann Taylor graciously provided some of the clothing featured in this post, but all opinions are my own.
“Gossip Girl here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite… And who am I? That’s one secret I’ll never tell. You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip Girl.”
LOL! I couldn’t resist. When I saw these photos, I was immediately reminded of Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl. I just need to add her signature headband, and my transformation would be complete. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, head over to Netflix and add this series to your queue immediately! If you’re a Gossip Girl fan like me, share your favorite character in the comments of this post. My favorite character is Blair (obviously).
Now that the holidays are **almost** over, I thought we should shift our focus and begin transitioning our wardrobe to cold weather—aka winter and share my 3 must-have accessories. Full disclosure: on weekends, I rotate two of my favorite pullover sweaters and a pair of Ponte pants or jeans. When I’m at work, however, I like to look a little more polished.
This is where Ann Taylor comes in. I love how I can dress warmly but still look super cute and put together. My outfit is on the subdued side, but I encourage you to grab more colorful options to keep you feeling upbeat when the weather is gray and drab.
As a heads up, the clothing and accessories at Ann Taylor sold out quickly this season, especially the colorful options. If you see something you like, snap it up before it’s gone! I found some great items but wasn’t able to pick up colorful options, and those are typically my preference (over black).

3 Must-Have Accessories You Need This Winter
The Sweater Cardigan: I own numerous blouses, but during winter, you can’t necessarily wear them on their own. I was lucky enough to pick up two sweater coats or long cardigans to a pair with my blouses. You can check out the first one from last week’s post here, and shop the one in today’s post here. If you have a lot of neutral blouses like me, look for cardigans in a print or vibrant color to change things up. This also makes getting ready easy when you know most—if not all—of your cardigans work with blouses in your closet.
Outwear: If you live in a colder climate like I do, I recommend picking up two winter coats, as you can always use them. Now is the time to get outwear on sale! I like to have a neutral option that goes with everything and another colorful jacket. Adding a pop of color to a neutral wardrobe will add some flair to your outfit and help make you feel upbeat. I would love to find a coat in a burgundy or wine color. Ann Taylor had a gorgeous one, but it sold out during the holidays. I was lucky, however, to get this one. I feel so Olivia Poe when I wear it!
Knit Accessories: Ann Taylor has some of the cutest knit gloves, hats, and scarves. The pom-pom hat is super on trend, and they have it in multiple colors. This rhinestone option is also very cute! Another easy way to brighten up your outfit is to add colorful or printed scarves. Ann Taylor has so many amazing options. I’m a big fan of this faux fur pink stole and this reversible feather scarf.
What is your must-have accessory for the winter? I invite you to share your favorite in the comments.
