How to Style the Stefanie Mini — Lace & Pearls Jewelry

November 5, 2019

The piece coming in at number one is the Stefanie Mini! Since launching this style a year ago, I've sold 67 units. Her story is unique — she started out as the 'Stefanie,' a double-layered necklace (instead of a single layer), adorned with semi-precious (celestite) gemstones. What makes her unique is the matte gold chevron layer.Model: Megan of Diary of this Girl 📷: Sarah Wolfe

I’ve often wondered how to incorporate my handmade jewelry line — Lace & Pearls Jewelry (LPJ) — into my blog outside the typical outfit posts. It occurred to me that it would be fun to share the story behind each piece of jewelry. And this post is timely, as LPJ is celebrating its two-year anniversary on November 7th. Woot! This feels like a great time to begin a new series on my blog.

Fun fact: The majority of my pieces are named after my friends or TV characters! 🙂

LPJ’s Number One Seller — The Stefanie Mini

The piece coming in at number one is the Stefanie Mini! Since launching this style a year ago, I’ve sold 67 units. Her story is unique — she started out as the ‘Stefanie,’ a double-layered necklace (instead of a single layer), adorned with semi-precious (celestite) gemstones. What makes her unique is the matte gold chevron layer. Customers quickly began asking for the ‘Stefanie’ with a single layer, eliminating the second layer of stones while keeping the chevron layer. From there, the ‘Stefanie Mini’ was born!

I’ve Created 3 Styles From One Design

Funnily enough, customers are now requesting the ‘Stefanie’ with the celestite stones only, eliminating the chevron layer. This design is in the works. So stay tuned!

One of the most rewarding parts of being a designer is selling my creations in person. I participate in a handful of local craft shows and markets, and I am gearing up for my busiest season. I love interacting with customers; your support and feedback helps inspire news ideas!

The Story Behind the Name

So who is Stefanie? She is my BFF! We have been friends for 23 years. I’m not superstitious, but I feel like the pieces named after real people perform better than those named after fictional characters.

How to Style Her

Now for the fun part — how to style her! The “Stefanie Mini’ is available in 14k gold-filled or sterling silver. If you prefer a double layer like the ‘Stefanie’ but in silver, I encourage you to check out the ‘Jenn,’ named after my friend and fashion + lifestyle blogger, Hello Rigby.

I design all my pieces to be worn casually, with a simple T-shirt or blouse. However, I’ve also seen customers dress up my designs. The ‘Stefanie Mini’ is the perfect versatile piece and can be worn for any occasion. Do you need a ‘Stefanie Mini’ of your own? You can shop her here. And if you prefer the double-layered look, check out the ‘Stefanie.’

To celebrate LPJ turning two, use code BDAY2 to receive 30% off your order. This code is valid through December 31, 2019.
