Why I’m Choosing Clean Beauty + How to Get Started

August 20, 2019

In my research, I have found there can be a direct correlation between how our body functions and the products we use on our skin. Since the beauty industry is essentially unregulated, brands can produce products that are filled with toxic ingredients, carcinogens, and endocrine disruptors. I am often tired and experience elevated stress levels, and in addition, I have a hormone imbalance. By eliminating toxic products—and switching over to Beautycounter —I hope to improve my overall health. Hooray for clean beauty!

What I’m Wearing Dress: Banana Republic (via thredUp) | Jacket: Embellish c/o | Headband: Lace & Pearls Jewelry | Necklace: Lace & Pearls Jewelry | Rings: Rebekah J. Designs (here & here) | Sandals: Old | Purse: Rebecca Minkoff (old) | Lipstick: Beauty Counter (color red)

The long-awaited post is finally here! I polled my Instagram audience, and there was a resounding vote for a clean beauty post. I was a bit surprised and am excited to share both my newfound journey and the importance of choosing clean beauty and skincare products.

5 Ways to Combat The Birthday Blues

April 2, 2019

A few nights ago, I had another sleepless episode. Unfortunately, this has become my norm as I can’t seem to slow my mind at night. The more responsibilities I take on — even if they’re fun — the harder it is to sleep. When this happens, I typically take a sleep aid and read a book. That night, however, I took the sleep aid and instead decided to catch up on reading blogs.

6 Ways to Practice Positive Self Talk this February

February 12, 2019

Making time for yourself, incorporating self-care into your routine, and practicing positive self talk are things that can be done year-round!Happy February! Can you believe we’re already two months into 2019?! Time is passing quickly.

Last February, I shared this post where I focused on self-care rather than the traditional valentines’ fashion post. Just because Valentine’s Day is traditionally associated with romance and spending time with someone special, doesn’t mean you can’t also take time for yourself—making time for yourself, incorporating self-care into your routine, and practicing positive self talk are things that can be done year-round!

New Year’s Wishes and Resolutions

January 4, 2019

People rarely take time to reflect on their accomplishments. Most choose to focus on their shortcomings and forget about their successes. I am also guilty of this and decided I'd like to start this post off by sharing my accomplishments. I encourage you to do the same, no matter how big or small a win—every bit counts in terms of getting you closer to your goal!Ann Taylor graciously provided some of the clothing featured in this post, but all opinions are my own.

Happy 2019! I can hardly believe it. I still remember writing this post and being completely candid on the topics of stress, weight, and feeling tired. For the past two years, my focus, or dare I say “New Year’s resolution,” has been to prioritize my health and fitness. You can read more about it here.

5 Reasons For Saying No

November 20, 2018

Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to take a day trip with my blogging buddies. Unfortunately, it was my only day to rest and as much as I wanted to hang out and bond, I knew if I decided to go it would derail me for the entire week.
