When I started this blog I wanted to be careful not to just buy clothes for the sake of blogging. Clothes are meant to be worn and loved, not just used for a season. People often wear their favorite items several times a week. I definitely do!

I love seeing my favorite bloggers remixing their outfits and coming up with new and exciting combinations. The first time I wore this dog sweater I styled it with a pair of distressed jeans, a stripe blouse, oxford heels, and loads of jewelry. The second time I added this skirt and dressed it up with boots and tights.

Tip

When shopping your closet, assess all of your wardrobe favorites and determine which items are needed to change things up. This is a great way to save money but give the illusion that your wardrobe is much larger then it actually is.

How To Wear A Critter Sweater

September 29, 2015

DSC_0049

My favorite fall staple is an animal intarsia sweater (what I would call a critter sweater). In honor of the new season, I thought it would be fun to revisit my favorite critter sweater looks. I also found a couple new ones that I might have to add to my collection (linked below). There is one critter sweater that didn’t make the blog last year. I will be sure to rock it this year and remix these looks into news ones.

I absolutely love dogs, but have never owned one. This sweater is from Brooks Brother Red Fleece and it fits like a glove. I think this year I will wear this sweater with a skirt or colored pants. See the original post.

This cute image is a cat, but sometime it is mistaken for a fox due to the tail. I’m not sure how I will change this look up, if you have any ideas let me know in the comments. See the original post.

Another dog sweater, what can I say! I wore this cozy pullover on Valentine’s day. It was a cold February and this outfit was perfect for a causal date.  See the original post.

This sweater is not an animal but could pass for one at first glance. The image is a Parisian woman wearing a fur coat. Definitely a conversation starter. I think I will change this look up by pairing it with faux leather pants and wedges. See the original post .

V-Day at 8 Years

These photos were taken on Valentine’s Day. It was pretty chilly out, so I decided to wear my favorite dog sweater layered over a gingham shirt. I wasn’t sure about the colors in the necklace, but I ended up liking how it brought out the details in the sweater.

Last year for Valentine’s Day, my husband and I ate at our favorite local burger joint, Burgermaster. It’s super causal and the location we dine at has a drive-in. The plan for this year was to cook at home, but that quickly changed when we found ourselves running errands near Burgermaster. We happily munched on burgers and fries while splitting a chocolate shake. It was heavenly.

The rest of the weekend was spent getting things done around the house, running errands, and walking at Richmond Beach and Discovery Park.  I love long weekends!

Girl’s Best Friend

You may have already guessed it but I love a cutesy sweater. When I spotted this one I nearly died. I also love dogs!

I  styled this look with a statement ring, a sparkly necklace, and two bracelets. I would normally keep other accessories minimal but today I decided to go all out.

It can be fun to take a fashion risk. Nothing crazy, just something that is outside of your comfort zone. It doesn’t matter if it’s the norm for everyone else (bright lipstick, statement necklace, or sky high heels). If it’s something you’ve wanted to try and haven’t, give it a go. You’d be surprised by how empowered you may feel or what other things you may try after starting off with something small.
