If you know me, you know that I am a jewelry fanatic! I just can’t resist a sparkly gem. My husband doesn’t understand why I don’t just invest in fine jewelry. What can I say, I love costume jewelry. Plus, it’s much easier on my wallet.

If you’re trying to figure out what to gift this holiday season, just check out Tippy Taste. Tippy Taste is a jewelry subscription service that allows subscribers to receive 2-3 pieces per month, depending on their plan. When the monthly newsletter comes out highlighting the latest collection, you get to choose your most to least favorite items by ranking them.

This is the first jewelry subscription service I’ve seen that allows you to curate your own box. You also have the option to shop directly from the site without a monthly subscription. They recently launched an affordable fine jewelry line. I’m a big fan of the Horseshoe Pearl necklace and Heirloom ring. I guess a girl can change her opinion about fine jewelry.

Tippy Taste September Box

This past summer Tippy Taste took a trip to Russia. The September box was inspired by their visit. Every piece from the collection is beautiful. The two pieces I received are the Veronika necklace and the Anastasia Drop earrings. I’m obsessed with the gold spikes and chic black crystal accents of the necklace. I love how dainty it is with a touch of edge. The earrings are super unique. I love the black and gold combo and the fringe detail.  A sophisticated choice for those upcoming holiday parties.

If you’re still struggling on what to get that special person in your life this holiday season, a Tippy Taste box is the perfect gift for the jewelry lover in your life. Super affordable with the added bonus that they can choose what they want. Win-win!

Valentine’s Day: Dress to Impress

February 11, 2016

AsaValentine-9

Now I am not the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day, but I love the idea of dressing up for the occasion. After being married for almost 6 years, it kind of loses it’s luster. We don’t have any plan, but even a causal night in with a big bowl of popcorn (real butter) or dinner at our favorite burger spot sounds fun. With that said, I hope you have something fun planned with girlfriends or a significant other. Before you rack your brain on what to wear, check out Megan (Diary of This Girl) and I’s photos to get inspired, and remember that no holiday is complete without a side of tulle and cupcakes. If you missed our first post you can check it out here.

AsaValentine-11

I love how our outfits compliment each other. It’s pretty impressive considering we only discussed wearing tulle skirts. Megan’s skirt is actually a dress that she layered a sweater over. Her white statement necklace, red bag, and ballet flats suit her so well. I want her gold dainty layering rings too! So cute and perfect for everyday. Megan – if you ever want to part with that bag, you know where to find me.

I have always found tulle skirts challenging to style, especially in the colder months. To make things easier I started with the shoes, and decided that gray tights would work best. The gray sweater made the most sense and pulled everything together. For the accessories I wore a vintage brooch from the Victorian era adorned with a cameo and rhinestones. I found this piece at a cute shop in eastern Washington on a shopping trip with my mother-in-law.

The purse is from Old Navy. They have really upped their accessory game. The pink chain bracelet is a oldie but goodie as are the rings.

Enjoy your weekend and be sure to swing by Megan’s blog to see more photos from our Valentine’s Day shoot. Thanks so much for reading. See you next week!

Casual Valentine’s Day

February 9, 2016

AsaValentine-54AsaValentine-53

Whenever I collaborate with Megan from Diary of This Girl I have way more fun! This is why we are bringing you two Valentine’s Day looks this week – one causal and the other dressy.

AsaValentine-49  AsaValentine-50

I love how Megan went for a non-traditional Vday look, but still managed to look girly and romantic. Her polka dot quilted jacket is super cute and flattering. I like how she choose to wear a flowy white tank underneath. Her black & white printed clutch and sweet bow flats add some flair to her monochromatic look.

AsaValentine-76

I went the traditional route and wore pink. Although this sweater is not the most flattering on my frame, I couldn’t resist it. I love peplums and liked how this one came in a structured knit material.

AsaValentine-59 AsaValentine-60

In my goal to wear more brooches, I added my rhinestone bow brooch and a sweet thrifted button bracelet. I layered on a few dainty rings and made sure to include my heart-shaped one. For some extra glam, I attempted to do two dutch braids in my hair and wore my not-so-secret weapon, Ardell false lashes. I went with distressed jeans and rose gold ballet flats to keep things causal.

Visit Megan’s blog to see more pictures from this shoot, and be sure to swing back here on Thursday for our second look.

Happy Holidays

Happy holidays everyone! I hope you’re not having to do any last minute errands like me. I still need to wrap gifts and tidy up the house.

In my search for a faux fur vest, I came across this beautiful cardigan with a faux fur collar. This piece is seriously deluxe. I feel so glamorous! The quality is excellent and the knit provides warmth without adding  extra bulk. I can pretty much put any base layer under this sweater and be ready to go.

I am a big fan of Stella & Dot and am loving this monogram pendant and pearl ring.  I remember when a pearl ring was hard to find, but now there are lots of options.  This one has a modern twist with the pearl on one end and a spike on the other. It’s the perfect balance of tough and girly.

Hope you all have a good holiday! Enjoy your time with friends and family and I’ll see you here next week.

I had the pleasure of attending a blogger brunch this weekend. It was held at Terra Plata and hosted by Jenn from Hello Rigby on behalf of Coors Peak. Coors Peak is a new gluten-free beer. I’m not a big beer drinker, but I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth it was.

The attire for this occasion was silly or dressy. Since I didn’t have time to find an ugly Christmas sweater, I went for dressy. This was the perfect opportunity to re-wear my faux fur stole from my sister-in-law’s wedding. This piece really makes a statement and it’s a good conversation starter. Plus, it’s so much fun.

This skirt with the sequin detail is becoming my go-to for parties. Last year, I wore it to my office Christmas party.  I hope I can still get away with wearing it after the holidays. Since the stole and skirt are such statement pieces, I tried to keep everything else simple. Except for the bracelet. I gotta have some bling.

Thanks so much for reading! Be sure to swing back here on Thursday for another holiday look.

I love a new month almost as much as I love ❤️ I love a new month almost as much as I love ❤️ a new week. 😆 It's a time to start off fresh and crush some goals! 👍🏾
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This month's challenge is to be more disciplined. 🙌I'm struggling to find a happy medium of no longer having to go into the office. 👩🏾‍💻 I literally went from super productive and discipline to complete slob and shiftless. 🤷🏾‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To kick off Discipline Month, I have been forcing myself to shower 🚿 , brush my teeth, and do my skincare routine every day. I also want to challenge myself to go outside 🍁 my house a few times a week. 😊
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What is something you're working on this month?
