2016 Goals

January 14, 2016

2016_Goals_January

Now that it’s officially 2016 I thought it would be a great to revisit my 2015 goals and share some new ones.

2015 Goals:

  1. Get 7.5-8 hours of sleep per night For the month of November and December this goal was nonexistent. Going back to work last week and being on a schedule really kicked my butt back into gear and has made it easier to go to bed at a decent time.
  2. Work out 4-5 days a week I have been walking 3-4 days a week, so I consider this goal achieved. Now I need to up my cardio and push myself to do more.
  3. Lose 7 pounds In 2014, I lost 11 pounds and had planned to take off an additional 7 in 2015. I didn’t reach this goal, but I did maintain my weight from the previous year.
  4. Get out of debt This goal is ongoing and will be completed this year. I have already made a lot of headway and just need to keep it up.
  5. Worry less  Goal complete. I  have my friends and family to thank, along with exercise, diet, and blogging. Through blogging I have found purpose, creativity, and friendships. I am more confident then I’ve ever been and grateful for all the wonderful people I have met through this blog.

2016 Goals:

Personal

  1. Change up my workout routine Exercise has always been a part of my life, but it’s time to up the intensity.
  2. Get 7.5-8 hours of sleep per night This needs to becomes a habit.
  3. Loose 10 pounds I still need to drop some weight for health purposes. The first two goals should help here.
  4. Pay off Debt I am really looking forward to completing this by the end of the year.

Blog

  1. Product Development  I am starting my own jewelry line and hope to launch an Etsy shop this Spring or Summer. This venture is terrifying and quite a learning curve, but it has been fun.
  2. Photography/Editing Photos I need to learn how to use my DSLR and edit photos using Photoshop.
  3. Editorial Calendar Plan posts in advance and not the weekend before. I would like to be working 2 weeks ahead in my schedule.
  4. Improve my Writing Writing is hard and does not come naturally for me.  I hope I can improve in this area and develop content at a faster pace.

What do you want to accomplish this year?

Top 10 Posts of 2015

December 31, 2015

This year has been the fastest one yet and with all that has happened, I thought it would be appropriate to do a roundup of my top 10 most popular posts of 2015.

10.  6 Debt Reduction Tips. Check out this post to get actionable tips on changing bad habits and getting in the right mindset to reach this goal. Tips include giving yourself an allowance and unsubscribing from retail emails.

9. Carrie Bradshaw Moment. I love a good tulle skirt (and channeling one of my favorite fictional characters at the same time). #loveher

8. <3 <3<3. Wear your heart on your sleeve? How about all over. This dress was an awesome find.

7. Happy Spring. This outfit is the epitome of spring. I love the tweed skirt intertwined with green, yellow, and navy. The bright yellow bubble necklace pulls this look together.

6. Last Days of Summer: Oregon Coast. This summer I traveled to the Oregon coast and stayed at the Oceanside Beachfront RV Resort in Coos Bay. We stayed at The Crow’s Nest, the most adorable and well furnished cabin I have ever seen. I hope to visit again in the future.

5. A Little Bit of Grunge. This casual cool outfit can be easily put together by anyone. Just grab your favorite pair of jeans with a blouse, your cardi, and a scarf and you are ready to go.

4. What I’ve Accomplished in One Year of Blogging. This is my favorite post to date. It is a true reflection of my year in blogging and all I have accomplished. I have come a long way since starting this blog. I am excited for the future and am looking forward to working towards accomplishing the goals that I list out in this post.

3. Cowhide & Plaid. This was my first brand collaboration. I am still tickled that I got the opportunity to work with Favery and style such gorgeous pieces.

2. Two Shades of Gray. This shoot really reflects my girly side. I love the soft colors and fun brooches.

1. Pineapple Express. I’m still surprised by how popular this post was. Maybe it’s the fun title and cute pineapple print dress? This has been viewed and commented on more then any other post on this blog.

Happy New Year

January 2, 2015

DSC_0003 DSC_0005 DSC_0036 DSC_0065 DSC_0147

Sweater: J.Crew (old) | Blouse: Equipment (old) | Jeans: Loft (similar) | Bracelet: (vintage)| Ring: (thrifted)| Shoes: Jambu: (similar) | Bag: Foley + Corinna (similar) | Lipstick: Bobbi Brown (Warm Beige) | Lip Gloss: Smashbox Limitless Long Wear (Endless)

I can hardly believe it’s 2015, it feels like any other day. I am on vacation in eastern Washington visiting my in-laws. I go back to work on Monday. I’ve enjoyed spending time with friends and family while overindulging in lots of home made meals. I have ate more food then I care to admit and I’m looking forward to getting back on track.

These photos were taken last weekend on a very cold and windy day, so excuse the wild hair. I’m wearing one of my favorite sweaters with an adorable cat critter. This is one of many J.Crew novelty sweaters in my closet. I styled this sweater with a bow blouse.

The bag is by Foley + Corinna and can be worn two ways. I was excited about this purse when I purchased it on sale last summer, but this is the first time I’ve used it. I am terrible about rotating my bags – something I need to get better about.

Have a good weekend and see ya Monday! 😀

2015

December 31, 2014

DSC_0170It’s almost 2015 so I thought I would revisit this post and share my progress. The two goals that I shared were:

  1. Get 7.5-8 hours of sleep per night
  2. Workout 4-5 days a week

The month of November was ok for working out, but in December I really tapered off. Getting to bed early was the most challenging. I will be working on both for 2015.

Here are some more 2014 goals that I didn’t share.

  1. Start blogging. 🙂
  2. Lose 18 pounds – I’ve already lost 11 pounds through diet and exercise. I still have 7 more to go. I fell off my routine over the holidays but plan to get back on track in the new year.
  3. Get out of debt – I am slowly making progress on this one and I am proud of what I have accomplished so far. I’ll go into more detail in a future post.
  4. Worry less – this is an ongoing goal. I hope to keep things at bay through diet, exercise, adequate rest, massage and acupuncture.

Did you cross off any resolutions from last year?

I love a new month almost as much as I love ❤️ I love a new month almost as much as I love ❤️ a new week. 😆 It's a time to start off fresh and crush some goals! 👍🏾
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This month's challenge is to be more disciplined. 🙌I'm struggling to find a happy medium of no longer having to go into the office. 👩🏾‍💻 I literally went from super productive and discipline to complete slob and shiftless. 🤷🏾‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To kick off Discipline Month, I have been forcing myself to shower 🚿 , brush my teeth, and do my skincare routine every day. I also want to challenge myself to go outside 🍁 my house a few times a week. 😊
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What is something you're working on this month?
