Casual Valentine’s Day

February 9, 2016

Whenever I collaborate with Megan from Diary of This Girl I have way more fun! This is why we are bringing you two Valentine’s Day looks this week – one causal and the other dressy.

I love how Megan went for a non-traditional Vday look, but still managed to look girly and romantic. Her polka dot quilted jacket is super cute and flattering. I like how she choose to wear a flowy white tank underneath. Her black & white printed clutch and sweet bow flats add some flair to her monochromatic look.

I went the traditional route and wore pink. Although this sweater is not the most flattering on my frame, I couldn’t resist it. I love peplums and liked how this one came in a structured knit material.

In my goal to wear more brooches, I added my rhinestone bow brooch and a sweet thrifted button bracelet. I layered on a few dainty rings and made sure to include my heart-shaped one. For some extra glam, I attempted to do two dutch braids in my hair and wore my not-so-secret weapon, Ardell false lashes. I went with distressed jeans and rose gold ballet flats to keep things causal.

Visit Megan’s blog to see more pictures from this shoot, and be sure to swing back here on Thursday for our second look.

Seattle has been absolutely gorgeous this week! Although it has been chilly, the sky has been mostly clear and sunny. I love seeing people on their bikes, walking their dogs, jogging, and just enjoying the beautiful weather. There is nothing like it. I’m hoping this weather will continue. I love taking walks at the park during my lunch break. It’s something I definitely look forward to and need on the daily.

For this look I chose a girly gray peplum sweater layered over my favorite striped button-up. To keep things on the casual side, I decide to go with a pair of dark distressed jeans. The shoes are Dr. Scholl’s and the color is such a great neutral. They are so versatile that I’ve been able to wear them with dresses and skirts. The gorgeous statement necklace is a Mirina Collection Famous Necklace. I love the various chains, crystal pendants, and metal tassels.

Mirina Collections is based out of New York. Their jewelry is inspired by the Roman Empire. This is definitely reflected in the Famous Necklaces. The Diem necklace (shown) is minimal in comparison to some of the more extravagant pieces. All of Mirina’s jewelry is handcrafted. If you don’t see anything on the site that strikes your fancy, they also provide a custom made to order service.

Thanks for reading. I’ll see you back here on Thursday.
