This weekend was our first year hosting Thanksgiving. My husband was very ambitious and prepared a turkey and rib roast. Both turned out great, but the roast stole the show. We had family in from out of town and ended up with 11 guest total. It was a lot of fun.

Did anyone venture out for Black Friday? I prefer to stay in and surf the web for the best deals.  I’m excited to say that I did find a couple of fun items that I will be sharing soon.

Let’s talk about today’s look. I have wanted a shirt dress for as long as I can remember. On my frame (5’4″, broad shoulders, and large chest) the task can be nearly impossible. All the dresses in this variety are too long, and resemble a pajama shirt. Here are a couple of tips for finding the perfect one.

Size down. This will give you a slimmer and more flattering silhouette. Shirt dresses tend to be over-sized and boxy.

Buy petite. Getting this dress in petite was a big win. Not only is the length great but the overall fit has less fabric.

Add a belt. Define your waist by adding this accessory.

Add a layer. Adding a jacket or a cozy top layer will also provide your frame with more definition.

My favorite part of getting dressed is the accessories. I love timeless jewelry. When I spotted this monogram disc pendant it was love at first sight. This one is Stella & Dot and adds a little something special to any outfit. The ring’s black pave stones add an elegant but tough feel.

Thanks so much for reading see you Thursday!

Today I am styling another beautiful piece from Favery, a jewelry and accessory boutique based in Seattle. This brand is all about celebrating today’s most influential designers and elevating their products. All of the pieces are high-quality, often handmade, and locally-sourced. Here is Tuesday’s look if you missed it.

I love the fringe detail and the rose gold color of the Jules Smith Coachella Necklace. It also comes in gold and silver. If you prefer earrings, they have those too. I initially wanted to style this glam 70s style necklace with a chambray dress, booties, and a scarf, but the weather had something different in mind. I chose a neutral color palette, but added some contrast with the black distressed jeans. The blouse provides a feminine touch with the cozy vest.

If you like statement pieces Favery has you covered. If you prefer a more minimal aesthetic they’ve got that too. You can also work with a stylist for an at-home trunk show. If you’re obsessed with accessories like me, you might want to consider their stylist program.

The makeup in this shoot was done by Oliver Beauty. I was so excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with him. Look for more projects with him soon!

Jacekt: Cupcakes & Cashmere | Sweater: J.Crew | Skirt: J.Crew Factory ($38) | Bracelet: J.Crew (old) | Necklace: David Aubrey (borrowed) | Clutch: Primecut (borrowed) | Shoes: Cobb Hill | Makeup: Oliver Beauty

I recently had the opportunity to style several pieces from Favery, a jewelry and accessory boutique based out of Seattle. What separates this brand from the rest is their emphasis on celebrating today’s most exciting and influential designers. I love how some of their pieces are handmade, locally sourced, and often made in small batches. The quality can’t be beat and the end product is outstanding!

The first piece is the David Aubrey Turquoise Bead & Crystal Cabochon Statement Necklace. This designer specializes in statement jewelry (my fav). I immediately fell in love with the complexity of the beads in contrast with the crystal cabochons. I am also obsessed with the Pearl & Rhinestone Statement Necklace and the Delilah Brass Box Chain Glass Cabachon Pendant Necklace.

Let’s discuss the A-M-A-Z-I-N-G  Primecut Black & White Cowhide Oversized Clutch!  Talk about a statement piece. When you carry this clutch you immediately feel cool. It’s so unique and the fabric is absolutely gorgeous. This designer is based out of Portland, OR, and specializes in quality crafted handbags and clutches. The other two items that I am swooning over are the Spotted Hobo Bag and Spotted Cowhide Clutch. #Iwantitall

With such fun pieces I wanted to keep my top half simple and highlight the necklace. I went with a simple navy sweater with a faux leather jacket. I have been looking for a faux leather jacket for as long as I can remember. This one fits perfectly and doesn’t have a boxy cut like so many others I’ve tried. The party skirt added another fun element with the unique floral plaid pattern.

I also had the opportunity to collaborate with Oliver Beauty for my makeup. He did an excellent job of bringing out the color in both the necklace and skirt. I will be sharing a future post on our fall collaboration.

Be sure to come back on Thursday to see my second look with Favery.

Welcome back for the second look of my collaboration with MaRae from The Always Fabulous. We are partnering up this week to style similar looks from our closets. Swing by her blog to check out her black & white look. If you missed Tuesday’s post you can see it here.

I don’t have much black in my wardrobe, but when I saw this fabulous Chanel-like tweed jacket I knew I had to have it. To break up this monochrome look, I would add a bright colored blouse underneath the jacket or swap out the black pants for jeans. I added the dog brooch to give it some Asa personality. I am obsessed with brooches and have a pretty large collection. I am working on incorporating them into my styling.

Thanks so much for reading. See you next week!
